Students debate on ethics and integrity at school

Ethics and integrity at school was at the focus of the national conference organized in Tirana on 7th December 2022, marking the Week of Integrity in Albania. With the Council of Europe’s support, a session on “Schools for Integrity”, organised in the format of the “Global Café”, brought together senior representatives of education institutions, legislative, experts and civil society. Students of 4 high schools in Tirana steered the discussions around ethical dilemmas faced by their peers and how schools can contribute to strengthening integrity in education and in public service. The event was also an opportunity to discuss matters of integrity as a part of the Council of Europe’s Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture.

Welcome addresses of the Minister of State for Youth and Children, Bora Muzhaqi, and the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Tirana, Jutta Gützkow, inspired productive exchanges among participants.

This activity, designed and conducted in cooperation with the International Chamber of Commerce and the Albanian Institute for Public Affairs, took place within the framework of the Council of Europe project "Strengthening Education for Democratic Citizenship in Albania" financed by the Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency (Sida).
