In the framework of the Icelandic Presidency of the Committee of Ministers, Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić emphasised, in a meeting with Minister of Infrastructure Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson, the country’s leadership at this crucial time for the continent and the Council of Europe.
The Fourth Summit of the Heads of State and Government in Reykjavik (16th – 17th May) was highlighted as a historic opportunity to reaffirm unity at the highest political level and reinforce commitment to the pursuit of peace based on international law and respect for human rights.
While addressing the consequences of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Marija Pejčinović Burić underlined the close co-operation with the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure and Territorial Development for decentralisation reforms and the post-war recovery plan: “building back better and greener”, she said.
