Australian ICC member cities have come together to form a National ICC Network

On 26 August 2022, representatives from the city of Ballarat and the city of Salisbury met online with Ivana d’Alessandro, Head of the ICC programme, as well as with Lynda Ford (ICC Expert and Director, iGen Foundation) and Dr Glenda Ballantyne (Swinburne University of Technology, Lead Researcher, International Intercultural Cities Comparative Study), who offered their support for the network. The cities agreed to establish the Australian National ICC Network, and that Lynda and Glenda would take on the roles of co-conveners.

The aims of the network are:

  • to initiate and support networking and knowledge sharing opportunities for Australian ICC cities;
  • to strengthen collaboration among Australian ICC cities and with ICC cities in other parts of the world;
  • to work towards expansion of the network of ICC cities in Australia;
  • to strengthen the contribution of Australian cities to the Asia-Pacific network of Intercultural cities.
