On becoming a member of the Intercultural Cities Programme, supported by the Council of Europe, in 2008, historically multinational Melitopol has truly gained the feeling of the identity it has.
Since then, the life of Melitopol conceptually and meaningfully has become an integral and organic component of the process of creating a common cultural European urban space. A garden city, a honey city, the cherry capital of Ukraine, and a dynamic, youthful, comfortable, intercultural source of the country are just a few characteristics of Melitopol.
