Council of Europe supports global anti-violence agenda at cross-regional meeting organised by UNSRSG-VAC and the Government of Jamaica |
30.06.14 How can all children worldwide be protected and stay safe from
violence? The Council of Europe will attend the “Cross-regional meeting for
advancing the protection of children from violence” organized by Ms Marta
Santos Pais, UN Special Representative of the Secretary General on Violence
against Children, and the Government of Jamaica.
This meeting taking place in Jamaica on 30 June and 1 July, aims to
strengthen the cooperation between regional organisations by sharing good
practices and jointly finding ways of supporting a global anti-violence
agenda.
Representatives from other regional organisations such as the Caribbean
Community (CARICOM), the Council of the Baltic Sea States, the
Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, the League of Arab States and the
South Asia Initiative to End Violence against Children, will also attend the
meeting.
