Ukrainian launch of a children’s rights project

Strasbourg, 19.12.2013 – A new project: "Strengthening and protecting children's rights in Ukraine", funded by the Government of Norway and implemented jointly by the Council of Europe and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine is unveiled in Kyiv today.

The main purpose of the project is to strengthen the effective implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse (Lanzarote Convention), the Council of Europe Policy Guidelines on integrated national strategies for the protection of children from violence and other relevant Council of Europe children’s rights instruments.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for presenting the project more in detail and to highlight the commitments of the Ukrainian partners to its successful implementation. The event will gather together high level representatives from Ukrainian authorities, international organisations and experts, professional networks, parliamentarians, NGOs and media.

Event location: Opera Hotel, Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Str. 53, Kyiv, Ukraine
