This activity aims to bring together actors of social policies (government representatives, policy-makers, researchers, civil society and the private sector) with a view to exchanging ideas on important aspects of new social demands and governance.
A Forum took place in October 2001 for a first exchange of ideas. The objective is to encourage an inter-sectorial exchange on four topics related to new social demands and governance.
How to detect new social demands? Are institutions adaptable, or do new social demands also require new institutions? What is the role of the private sector in terms of social demands? What is the added value of cross-sectorial partnerships in a government's capacity to handle new social demands?
