get involved: Parliamentary Round Table in Bratislava
22 Novembre 2007 - Bratislava (Slovaquie)
At the initiative of Martin KURUC, contact parliamentarian for Slovakia, the
Parliamentary Assembly and the Slovak National Council will organise a
parliamentary Round Table in Bratislava on 22 November 2007 (10am to 1pm) to
launch the new parliamentary pan-European initiative "Men get involved". The
meeting will be opened by Viera TOMANOVÁ, Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and
Family of Slovakia and Boris Zala, Vice-President of the PACE and Chairperson of
the Slovak delegation to the PACE. László Nagy, Chairperson of the Committee on
Human Rights, Minorities and the Status of Women of the Slovak Parliament, PACE
Vice-President Göran LINDBLAD (Sweden), Gülsün BILGEHAN (Turkey), Chairperson of
the PACE Equality Committee, and Sinikka HURSKAINEN (Finland), Chairperson of
the Finnish delegation to the PACE will exchange views with Slovak
parliamentarians and representatives of the civil society on the issue of
domestic violence against women and the involvement of men in combating violence
against women. This Round
Table is organised in co-operation with the Ministry of Labour and the Council
of Europe Information Office of Bratislava, on the occasion of the accession of
Slovakia to the Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of
Europe. A press conference will be organised on 22 November 2007 at 1pm (Room
117, Ministry of Labour, Spitalska Str 4-6).
