On 8 and 9 May, for the 3rd consecutive year, the Ministry of Culture of Spain organised a Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Managers meeting, enabling managers of Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe crossing Spain to discuss ways in which Cultural Routes can promote the role of culture in building cohesive and democratic societies.
The potential of Cultural Routes in Latin America was also discussed. Cooperation between the European Institute of Cultural Routes and the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) is proving very successful in pilot projects aimed at developing new cultural routes in this region.
Spain has been a member of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (APE) since 2011 and is one of its founding member states.
