Main outcomes of the 102nd plenary meeting of the CDCJ

The European Committee on Legal Co-operation (CDCJ) held its 102nd plenary meeting in Strasbourg from 11 to 13 June 2024. The Committee undertook an in-depth examination on the draft text of the future convention for the protection of the profession of lawyer and its explanatory report, as revised by the Committee of Experts on the Protection of Lawyers (CJ-AV) at its 8th meeting on 13-15 May 2024 in the light of the contributions received in the framework of the stakeholder consultation process that had taken place earlier in the year.

During this meeting, an exchange of views took place with a consultant, Mr Nicolas Nord, to provide him with guidance on the elaboration of a draft practical guide and other practical tools to promote the implementation of the European Convention on Information on Foreign Law (ETS No. 62) and its Additional Protocol (ETS No. 97).

The CDCJ also adopted a questionnaire prepared by the Limited working group on migration (CDCJ-MIG) to collect information from member states with a view to preparing a compendium of good practices and a feasibility study on a non-binding instrument in respect of stateless children and procedures governing statelessness and acquisition of nationality.
