A working visit of the representatives of the Secretariats of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils of Montenegro to the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC) took place on 8-9 April 2019 in Sarajevo. The aim of the visit was to further support development of the institutional capacities of the Secretariats through enhancing their knowledge, skills and experience on financial management, human resources management and processes of appointments and promotion of judges and prosecutors.
The meetings held during the visit provided a platform for discussion among peers on integrity issues, disciplinary procedures for judges and prosecutors, judicial administration, judicial budgets, strategic planning, reporting and control mechanisms. The representatives of the Bosnian HJPC Secretariat presented their achievements and good practices, but also the challenges they face in performing their tasks.
As a direct result of visit, the idea of fostering bilateral relations between HJPC and the Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils of Montenegro has been initiated and it will be further explored and implemented through concrete co-operation activities in the upcoming period.
The working visit took place in the framework of the Action “Accountability of the Judicial System”, jointly funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.
