This working group, active between June 2020 and September 2022, has been replaced by the ENF-VAE Committee. Under supervision of the Steering Committee for the Rights of the Child (CDENF), the CDENF-GT-VAE - composed of eight national experts and a number of representatives from observer organisations - supported the implementation of priority area 1 of the Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child (2022-2027). The Group notably worked towards a draft non-binding instrument containing guidance for Member states on systems for professionals to report violence against children: Recommendation CM/Rec(2023)8 of the Committee of Ministers to member States on strengthening reporting systems on violence against children.

The CDENF-GT-VAE has also advised the CDENF regarding the review of progress made towards the UN Sustainable Developement Goals (UNSDG) and notably Target 16.2 to end all forms of violence against children, and on further priority actions to be developed to support member states in the preparation of legislation and policies to enhance the protection of children from violence, including through the Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child (2022-2027).
