Combating violence against women, violence against children and trafficking in human beings in the South Mediterranean Region
The programme 2015-2017 aims at facilitating democratic political transition and good governance in Morocco, Tunisia and Jordan through dialogue and co-operation and in respect of shared values of human rights, rule of law and democracy.
The programme follows a demand driven and targeted approach and takes into account national reform priorities. In the area of human rights, gender discrimination, violence against women and children and trafficking in human beings were identified as priority areas for cooperation. The Council of Europe make available relevant standards, mechanisms and good practices for the purpose of improving and strengthening legal, regulatory and policy frameworks as well as raising awareness and transferring knowledge and skills.
