A training on “Ethics and Prevention of Conflict of Interests“ for prosecutors, organized within Action against Economic Crime in Montenegro (AEC-MNE), took place on 29 November 2017 in Podgorica Montenegro. More than 20 prosecutors from Montenegro attended the training in which they had an opportunity to learn on the key principles of applied ethics through a set of interactive lectures and exercises. In addition the participants discussed on the relevant ECHR case law and practice. An emphasis was put on the ECHR cases relating to Montenegro, as well as on analysing concrete examples from Montenegro in which there were allegations of disciplinary liability and breaches of Codes of Ethic by Montenegrin prosecutors. The cases presented were used to illustrate and identify risks for breaches of ethics and integrity and to define recommendations for their mitigation in future.
