Council of Europe experts visited national authorities in Niger to assess the progress made towards aligning their cybercrime legislation with the provisions of the Budapest Convention and other international standards.
The team collected specific information on the existing laws on cybercrime and electronic evidence in the country. In collaboration with representatives of Nigerian authorities, the Council of Europe experts also produced a "zero draft" of the new Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence Act and provided guidance to the national community on how to align its provisions with international standards in the field of cybercrime.
