The 20th meeting of the Network of Coordinators for Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education took place in Strasbourg on 14 and 15 November 2013. It was an opportunity for the Coordinators to present the recent developments in the field of citizenship and human rights education in their respective countries and to share with the network the challenges and priorities for the upcoming period. The Coordinators were also provided with an overview of the Council of Europe activities on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights in 2013 and with the objectives of the Programme for 2014. Finally, the preliminary results of the first cycle of pilot projects implemented within the framework of the EU/CoE Pilot Project Scheme on “Human Rights and Democracy in Action” were presented to the network. Discussions in working groups enabled to draw the conclusions from this first experience and to formulate recommendations to be considered in the 2014 cycle of pilot projects.
