Enhancing communication and interpersonal skills of the Labour Inspection Office Staff in Georgia

Georgia's Labour Inspection Office (LIO) recently undertook a significant initiative to enhance its effectiveness and public image by organizing five intensive training sessions on persuasive communication and interpersonal skills in June and July 2024. Nearly 100 labour inspectors and LIO management staff participated in these sessions, gaining valuable techniques to improve their interactions with employers, employees, and colleagues.

Participants reported that the specialized training sessions significantly improved their interpersonal skills, which are crucial for fulfilling the LIO's mandate and advancing labour rights in Georgia. They emphasized that, as a relatively new legal entity, the LIO must continue to develop these skills among its employees to effectively carry out its responsibilities. Strengthening these capabilities will enable the institution to better protect labour rights, contributing to a fairer and more equitable work environment across the country.
