Gender equality and media freedom in Azerbaijan
The Council of Europe project “Gender equality and media freedom in Azerbaijan” aims to promote gender equality in and through media in Azerbaijan.
The Project aims at:
- Reviewing and updating the Code of ethics for Azerbaijani journalists from a gender equality perspective;
- Raising awareness on the Council of Europe standards on gender equality and media freedom among journalists and media professionals in Baku and the regions;
- Improving the quality of media education by developing new curricula and teaching courses on gender equality and media freedom.
All project activities are implemented in consultation and cooperation with relevant public authorities, national and international experts, media professionals and local NGOs in the country.
