The CDDH held its 100th meeting in Helsinki , Finland, from 25-28 June 2024.
This meeting included an important conference on the protection and promotion of civil society space in Europe, with speakers including Michael O’Flaherty, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, representatives of civil society organisations, the EU Fundamental Rights Agency and other Council of Europe bodies.
Amongst other things, the CDDH adopted a draft Committee of Ministers Recommendation on the effective protection of human rights in situations of crisis and take decisions for the finalisation of its feasibility study on a new instrument on human rights and the environment.
