Novellara is a town with a population of 13,790 inhabitants. Among them Italian people represent the majoritarian group (83.71%). Among the non-nationals (16.29%), 16.79% are foreign-born. Remarkably the number of migrants has been growing from 6.6% in 2002 to 17.8% in 2012, to decrease again later on. None of the minority groups represent more than 5% of the population. The biggest foreign-population is Chinese (4%), followed by Indian (3.66%) and Pakistani (3%).
