The Committee of Experts on the Operation of European Conventions on Co-operation in Criminal Matters (PC-OC) held its 84the meeting on 14-16 November 2023 in Strasbourg. Main items on the agenda included the application of the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters to co-operation with the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, a 3rd Additional Protocol which will update this Convention, the development of guidance regarding the post-surrender phase in extradition proceedings, as well as the possible accession of the Republic of Chile to this Convention.
Who are the PC-OC?
The Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Operation of European Conventions on Co-operation in Criminal Matters (PC-OC / Terms of reference / List of Conventions) is the forum in which, since 1981, experts from all member and observer states and organisations come together to elaborate ways to improve international co-operation in criminal matters and identify solutions to practical problems encountered in the application of Council of Europe Conventions in this field.
