On 13 April 2023 the Bureau of the CDMSI held its 24th meeting

The Bureau received updates on the outcomes of the questionnaires circulated to CDMSI members on the measures taken by member states to implement Recommendation CM/Rec(2016)4 (protection of journalism and safety of journalists and other media actors) and Recommendation CM/Rec(2018)2 (the roles and responsibilities of internet intermediaries).

The Bureau also took note of the reports from the third meetings of the expert committees subordinated to CDMSI – Committee of Experts on the Integrity of Online Information, Committee of Experts on Increasing Resilience of Media, as well as was informed about the progress made by the Committee of Experts on Strategic Lawsuits against Public Participation, which will hold its third meeting on 18-19 April. It further exchanged on CDMSI involvement in the Campaign for the safety of journalists and the forthcoming steps that need to be taken in order to achieve the Campaign’s goals.

The Bureau further discussed the CDMSI forthcoming Plenary meeting (14-16 June 2023), future work of the CDMSI and future terms of reference for 2024-2027.
