HELP Course on Violence against women and domestic violence for Azerbaijani law enforcement officials

Acknowledging the crucial role law enforcement plays in countering violence against women and domestic violence, the new online Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) course in Azerbaijani aims to equip professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively respond to such cases in Azerbaijan.

The course features three modules covering theoretical and practical aspects of VAW/DV, including its various forms and impact on victims and society. Law enforcement professionals will learn guidelines for a victim-centred response, techniques for interviewing victims and perpetrators, as well as practical steps for first responders and investigators.

The course can also benefit other frontline professionals such as social and health workers, civil society organizations, students, and other target groups.

The course is accessible online through the HELP Platform, offering a valuable resource for enhancing the response to VAW/DV.

The Azerbaijani adaptation of the course is part of the joint European Union and Council of Europe programme "Partnership for Good Governance," co-funded by the EU and the Council of Europe under the project "Preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence in Azerbaijan”.
