Through its case law, the European Court of Human Rights (the Court) has developed women’s rights and protected women against discrimination in different contexts.
This documentary shows how the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, known as the Istanbul Convention, has been used by the Court to develop its case law in the field of combating violence against women and domestic violence, and showcases how the Court and the Istanbul Convention interrelate.
