The Council of Europe Office in Baku has expressed its deep condolences to the people of Azerbaijan following the tragic crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) aircraft near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25.

In a formal note, the Office conveyed its profound sorrow over the loss of life and injuries sustained by passengers aboard the flight. Highlighting the heartbreaking nature of the incident, the Office extended its thoughts to the victims' families and loved ones during this difficult time and wished for the swift recovery of the survivors, some of whom remain in critical condition.

In its message, the Office reaffirmed its solidarity with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
