On 17 December 2009, the CEPEJ adopted Guidelines for a better implementation of the existing Council of Europe Recommendation on enforcement. These principles aim to guarantee access for all to an enforcement agent and to quality enforcement while respecting the fundamental rights of litigants. 10 years later, the International Union of Judicial Officers (UIHJ) and the CEPEJ jointly organised, on 4th December 2019 in Strasbourg, the World Forum on the theme: "What future for the enforcement on digital assets ?”. It consisted in a reflection on the judicial officer facing his digital future, in order to ensure his justified existence in a world which does not stop moving forward.

This conference gathered together representatives from academia, justice professionals, judicial institutions from different European countries and the Republic of Latvia to explore how artificial intelligence can be used to support the work of legal professionals and the courts and guarantee a better quality of justice.

It underlined the principles and values which should guide the application of artificial intelligence in judicial systems.

During its 30th plenary meeting, the CEPEJ has organised a Study Session on "Artificial Intelligence and Judicial Systems" on 27 June 2018 from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. This event has been broadcasted live.

The Public and Private Justice Course and Conference took place from 24 to 28 May 2010, at the Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik on the theme „Landscape of the European Legal professions: Has Unity Been Lost?“. As in the past years, CEPEJ encourages participation to this course organised by the Inter University Centre of Dubrovnik and which is in keeping with the larger question of the development of the legal profession in Europe and its impact on the functioning of civil justice.

The CEPEJ will support a post-graduate course entitled "Public and Private Justice – Dispute Resolution In Modern Societies", which will take place in Dubrovnik (Croatia) from 19 to 23 May 2008.

A European Conference on Mediation took place from 24 to 25 May 2007 in Vilnius (Lithuania). Concrete examples of the procedures in mediation, drawn from the practice of several countries of Europe, in particular in the family, civil or medical field illustrated the debates. The Conference was also the occasion to give a progress report on the CEPEJ's work on mediation. Petras Baguška, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania, opened the conference.

Within the framework of the activities of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ), the Council of Europe organised a Conference on Evaluating European Judicial Systems, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the Netherlands, which took place on 2-3 May 2005, in The Hague (Netherlands).

The Conference, organised jointly by the Council of Europe and the European Commission from 18 to 20 November 2004 in Brussels gathered 250 European specialists. During this event, numerous pilot projects established by the different European States with the aim of improving in a specific manner the access of citizens to justice and bringing justice closer to the citizens were presented.

Within the framework of the celebrations planned on the occasion of the bicentenary of the French Civil Code, the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the French Court of Cassation and the French Ministry of Justice, and with the support of the French School of Magistrates, organised a colloquy which brought together numerous experts in civil law who specialise in codification as well as other European personalities from the legal and political world on 22 and 23 October 2004 in Strasbourg.
