THE GOVERNANCE OF EURIMAGES EVOLVES

On 9 September 2020, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe approved the reform of Eurimages, proposed in light of the conclusions of the Fund’s most recent external evaluation.

With 41 member States and more than 2,000 films supported in 30 years of existence, Eurimages will make major changes to its governance by setting up an Executive Committee to take rapid decisions on day-to-day management and a Board of Management responsible for defining the Fund's policy and adopting operating rules. The selection process will also evolve with independent external experts from the film industry now assessing the quality of the works to be supported.

The reform, whose detailed implementation is to be finalised in 2021, will bring increased efficiency and transparency to the Eurimages Fund, to better meet the needs of an industry hit hard by the public health crisis.
