Monitoring visit to an international activity of JECI – MIEC on democracy and combating discrimination

On 6 and 7 August 2024, the EYF secretariat carried out a monitoring visit to the international activity of JECI – MIEC Summer Camp for Inclusive Democracy: "Democracy, Diversity, and You(th)". Fifty-five participants attend the camp to learn more about the characteristics of democracies and the rights of minority groups and worked together to develop ideas for action for democratic awareness and community actions. During six days, participants also learnt more about each other’s contexts and realities, the threats to democracies and the specific situations of minorities. The camp also provided opportunities for participants to learn from each other in informal settings.

Throughout the year, the European Youth Foundation is visiting projects run by non-governmental youth organisations who are receiving a grant from the Foundation to get to know to NGOs and their work, increase the visibility of the EYF and the Council of Europe, and further support the organisations in the implementation of their activities.

The activity was supported through the international activity funding programme of the European Youth Foundation. You can find more information on this grant scheme and upcoming deadlines at the following link.
