Monitoring visit to the “Dikh He Na Bister” international activity of TERNYPE

On 30 and 31 July 2024, the European Youth Foundation (EYF) staff visited the international activity “Dikh He Na Bister” (Look and Don’t Forget) organised by The International Roma Youth Network (ternYpe) in the context of the 80th anniversary of European Roma Holocaust Memorial Day on 2 August. The activity was held in Krakow, Poland, from 29 July to 3 August 2024 with the aim to raise awareness of young participants about the Roma genocide and inspire them to actively promote remembrance education at local, national, and international scales. The wider event gathered more 300 participants, Roma and non-Roma, from more than 10 European countries. The educational programme included sessions on Roma history and the Roma Genocide during WWII, as well as a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau, sessions on remembrance and Roma heroes, followed by a youth commemoration held in Auschwitz on August 2 and sessions on how to take local actions today.

The activity was supported through the international activity funding programme of the European Youth Foundation. You can find more information on this grant scheme and upcoming deadlines at the following link.
