Monitoring visit to the international activity “Feminist Multipliers” of the International Union of Socialists Youth

On 8 and 9 April 2025, the European Youth Foundation conducted a monitoring visit to the first international activity “Feminists Multipliers” of the International Union of Socialists Youth (IUSY), as part of the IUSY 2025 annual work plan “Insight Impact: Addressing Gender Based Violence Globally”.

The training activity, held over five days (06–10 April) in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, brought together 21 participants from 16 countries to empower and educate them in recognising and preventing violence, while encouraging critical reflection on societal attitudes and organisational practices. Using non-formal education methods, including theatre and role-play games, participants explored and strengthened their knowledge, skills, and capacities in identifying gender-based violence and addressing it through an intersectional lens and active bystander approaches. The training also empowered IUSY members engaged in LGBTQIA+ communities, in further supporting a global, queer, and youth-led volunteering approach to tackling gender-based violence.

This annual work plan seeks to empower IUSY members to recognise and prevent gender-based violence (GBV) within the organisation and produce resources to be disseminated beyond their network.

It includes 3 phases starting with 2 capacity-building activities and finishing with a third phase to produce two outputs: a toolkit on combatting gender-based violence and an interactive educational chart, that will include human rights education tools, campaign tools on gender-based violence from a queer intersectional organizational approach, as well as support and mentoring information for youth workers and theoretical background on the topic.

This activity is supported by the European Youth Foundation thanks to an annual work plan grant.
