Call for participants: Compass training course in Ukraine

Youth workers and teachers from all regions of Ukraine, who are interested in providing human rights education, developing civic competences and establishing cooperation between the formal and non-formal education sectors, are invited to participate in the training course which will take place on 21-25 July in Lviv, European Youth Capital 2025.

The Centre for Educational Initiatives (Lviv) in cooperation with the Youth Department of the Council of Europe  and the European Wergeland Centre , together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, is the main organiser of this Compass national training course on human rights education. The project of the Council of Europe  “Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase III” provides an expert support for this activity.

The development of civic competences, human rights education and education for democratic citizenship are priorities for education and youth policy in Ukraine. Establishing cooperation and mutual training of specialists working in formal and non-formal education will allow achieving better results in building democratic culture.

The training course is designed for participants who are:

  • aged over 18 years old.
  • able to work in Ukrainian.
  • living and working (active?) in Ukraine.
  • working in the youth sector or formal education in Ukraine.
  • motivated to apply Compass in their activities.
  • interested in providing human rights education, developing civic competences of children and young people and sharing experiences with other practitioners.

The Compass Training Courses are strategic national activities for the development of competences of key multipliers for human rights education with young people and the implementation of the Council of Europe Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education.

These activities are the integrated part of the Human Rights Education Youth Programme that included in the Council of Europe Youth for Democracy programme and play a central role in the 2030 Strategy of the youth sector.
