The President of the Committee of Ministers, Iceland’s Foreign Minister Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir and Council of Europe Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić have met in Strasbourg to mark one year since the start of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Their discussions focused on the ongoing preparation of the Reykjavik Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe, to be held on 16-17 May 2023, including the Council of Europe’s support to Ukraine for a comprehensive accountability and compensation system which prevents impunity and protects victims' rights.
