According to UN statistics, nearly 80 million people worldwide had to flee their homes in 2019. This film, produced jointly by the Council of Europe and the City of Strasbourg to coincide with World Refugee Day 2020, follows the paths of three refugees now living in the Alsatian capital, two from Syria and one from Mongolia. Through its European Qualifications Passport for Refugees, the Council is helping the newcomers to find jobs in their new country. Meanwhile the City of Strasbourg, together with local civil society representatives and the national branch of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) are doing their best to make the new arrivals feel at home, and to give them a positive role in the play in French society.
