Results of the intercultural index analysis for Cyprus districts

Four of the regional intercultural networks in Cyprus held their second network meetings in May 2022. At the meeting the networks agreed their terms of reference and discussed the results of the Intercultural Cities Index Analysis.

Earlier this year the network coordinators led the process to complete the index questionnaire for their region which included 90 questions on:

  • the local setting and demographic context
  • intercultural policies, structures and actions
  • governance/policy areas which contribute to intercultural integration

This data was then analysed and compiled into a report for each region which includes:

  • the results of the region in the different governance/policy areas
  • charts that illustrate visually the scores attained by the region for each indice and how they compare to the city average or to a cluster of cities sharing similar characteristics
  • information on the region’s good practices that could inspire other cities
  • recommendations based on examples of good practice from other cities that the responding city may consider to increase its score in one or several governance/policy areas.

These index analysis reports will help the networks take stock of their achievements and challenges in their region as a point of departure for the development of their intercultural strategies and see whether they can learn from other cities which have concrete experience in this field.

The reports are available to download below.

This activity was implemented in the framework of the “Building structures for intercultural integration in Cyprus” project which is being carried out with funding from the European Union, via its Structural Reform Support Programme, and in co-operation with the European Commission's DG for Structural Reform Support.
