Council of Europe Summit concludes work by adopting a final declaration and an Action Plan
The Third Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe, which took place in Warsaw on 16 - 17 May, concluded its work by adopting a political declaration and an Action Plan laying down the principal tasks of the Council of Europe in the coming years.
Jean-Claude Juncker to report on Council of Europe-EU relations
There is no room for rivalry between the Council of Europe and the European Union on essential matters, says Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker. The two organisations complement each other closely, he told the Warsaw gathering of Heads of State and Government, who went on to adopt a political declaration in which they asked him to draw up in a personal capacity a report on relations between the Council of Europe and the Union.
