Colourful Radio targets 12 million listeners
United Kingdom - March 2009
Colourful Radio has relaunched in the hope that its mix of music and topical debate will claim an increasing share of the 12 million-strong audience of London listeners.
Award-winning broadcaster Henry Bonsu has teamed up with veteran DJ Gordon
(Mac) McNamee for the venture. The radio station, now on DAB format, will focus primarily on the capital’s African-Caribbean communities.
"I think it is time for another broadcasting revolution,” said MacNamee. “DAB gives
radio operators a chance to build independent stations that are not bogged down by big company mentality and bureaucracy.
“Colourful Radio offers the perfect combination between an uplifting 'feel good' station
and a forum for debating issues that are close to people's hearts. It
will make a fantastic contribution to the capital, its citizens
and visitors."
In addition to DAB, Colourful Radio can be found on Sky Channel 0194 in the
UK and Eurobird satellite across Europe and online. |
