The teacher and actress Pemi Zouni was born in Athens, Greece. She studied philosophy at the University of Athens and later at the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece, before moving to Paris.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Ms Zouni studied classical ballet and is an accredited teacher of jazz, tap dancing and Argentine tango.

She has performed and directed with the National Theatre, the National Theatre of Northern Greece and other theatrical companies. She won the "Best Leading Actress Award" at Thessaloniki International Film Festival (1985) and also received the "Kotopouli Prize" for best theatrical performance (2004).

Ms Zouni is also an elected member of the Athens city council.
