International event on the modernisation of Convention 108
The International Conference held in Strasbourg on 21 June 2018 gathered a hundred data protection specialists, from 70 countries, to mark the finalisation of the modernisation of Convention 108. Convention 108+ will provide a unique forum of exchange and cooperation at global level through its Committee and this half-day event was an opportunity for all participants to welcome the modernised Convention and look into what it will bring in the future.
Convention 108: from a European reality to a global treaty
The International Conference held in Strasbourg on 17 June 2016 gathered over a hundred participants, from more than 60 countries, to notably welcome the accession of Mauritius to Convention 108. Mauritius will become the 49th country to join the Convention. Other will follow soon and the unique forum of exchange and cooperation offered by the Committee of the Convention will continue to expand, and gather more and more countries from all regions of the world.
European Conference of Data Protection Authorities
The Council of Europe and the French "Commission Nationale de l' Informatique et des Libertés" (CNIL) have organised this conference, which took place in Strasbourg on 5 June 2014. This annual event, which is reserved for accredited data protection authorities and observers, is a unique occasion for each represented authority to deal with subjects of common interest and to help advance the fundamental right to data protection.
